Successful Adoptions...
Oreo, Jasmine, Gus, Thumper & Dusty, Ono
Oreo
Oreo is a four-year-old German Short Hair who
just found his new family. This special little guy is
a perfect fit for the Gulley family. Oreo has one of
the sweetest spirits and he found a sweet-spirited family.
Oreo was given up by his original owner who had him
since the age of seven weeks. He was released by his
owner and taken to the rescue because the owner moved
to a condo that did not allow dogs.
From the fist day of his arrival at MRR Oreo was confused
about the new environment. In spite of being in a strange
place this dog was well-behaved and wanted to please.
On adoption day you could tell he was looking for his
past owner… one who never would return. Oreo came
to a place where he just had to trust the MRR volunteers
with his future. We knew there was the right family
for him but we had to be patient and wait for them to
come to him.
The family came to Petsmart Adoption Day in response
to a phone call about Oreo from one of our volunteers.
Within a short time everyone knew that Oreo had found
a new home. The Gulleys had been praying and waiting
for the right dog to adopt. God answered their prayer….especially
Bob’s! After the paperwork was completed it was
time to shop, get an I.D. tag and pause for a few photos.
Congratulations to the Gulleys!

Jasmine
This five month- old kitten and her sweetness
won the heart of her new family. She is now placed in
a wonderful new home.

Lucky
Gus - Official Pet Therapist
The story of Lucky Gus began with his arrival
at a local pet store with his four brothers and sisters.
Within days all the puppies were diagnosed with distemper
and were to be euthanized. Animal Assistance League
intervened hoping to save all or some of the puppies.
Medical treatment was begun but it was too late to save
four of the puppies. One little boy survived distemper…
Lucky Gus.

story and see photos.

Thumper
and Dusty
These kittens were placed in a pet carrier and
dropped off at a house and abandoned by the owners.
They were brought to MRR. They have been successfully
adopted into a new home and look forward to a long life
with their new family.

Ono
This 9-month old female Shibu Inu survived Hurricane
Katrina. She was flown to California with dozens of
other dogs and placed with Modjeska Ranch Rescue. After
weeks of searching for the owners she was declared available
for adoption. This little girl is now with a loving
family and looks forward to years of love and attention
from her new owners.
