German Shepherd Kodiak Kodiak is
an amazing German Shepherd with a great attitude
in spite of his physical condition. He was brought
to a local animal shelter and was scheduled to be
euthanized due to his physical state. Modjeska Ranch
Rescue was contacted about Kodiak and he was brought
to the rescue ranch. His hind legs were in a paralyzed-like
condition and he would drag them behind him. At
the ranch he has been receiving love and attention
and medical treatment. At this time he is showing
signs of progress and the legs are strengthening.
By nature he is friendly and social and wants to
be with you. We are very hopeful about Kodiak and
that in time he will regain his legs.
Golden Retriever Goldie This senior
Golden Retriever was abandoned out in the canyon
by her owner. She was patiently waiting for help
and the help arrived. Russell Taylor of MRR went
to the site and brought her to the rescue ranch.
The dog had a huge swelling around her eye and an
infection. Immediately Teresa took this golden retriever
to the vet for an evaluation and medical attention.
Currently she is on antibiotics for the infection.
In the near future she will require surgery to remove
the growth. Goldie is totally confused about the
disappearance of her owners but is openly receptive
to the staff of MRR.
Lab Mix Duke Duke
is a three-year-old yellow lab who was hit by a
car…twice. He suffered injuries to his hip
and leg. The hip is broken and in process of healing.
The front leg is severely damaged and will have
to be amputated. Dogs do very well on three legs.
He will be available for adoption after he recovers
from surgery. Duke is looking for a very special
home.
Great Dane Kasey Kasey
is an 18 month-old Great Dane rescued from the shelter
where she was scheduled to be euthanized. She was
hit by a car and her front leg was severely damaged.
A second medical condition is mange …body
and feet. Currently being treated for the mange.
Veterinarian will re-evaluate the leg and make a
decision regarding amputation. In spite of this
negative situation she remains loving, trusting
and wonderful. Her medical condition will require
months of treatment before she is available for
adoption. We are seeking friends who will contribute
to her medical expenses and long-term care needs.
